Our Story

Welcome! My name is Sandi Rabalais.

My husband and I came up with the idea of Special Day Weddings after planning and working on our own wedding 25 years ago. We enjoyed the experience, but realized we missed so many moments worrying about everything being done.

Since that time, we have brought dreams to life for many brides and grooms and spared them from losing those moments! We can do as little or as much as you like, from day-of coordinating to complete planning and decorating that showcases your unique vision.

My team and I are your go-to wedding planners for bringing your dream wedding to life.

Difference between Wedding Planner, Coordinator, and Designer

A wedding planner helps you handle all the details from start to finish—budgeting, timelines, vendor communication, contracts, and logistics. They’re your guide through the entire planning process, making sure everything comes together smoothly and stress-free.

A wedding coordinator steps in closer to your big day to make sure everything you’ve planned runs perfectly. They confirm details with your vendors, manage the schedule, and handle any surprises so you can relax and enjoy your celebration.

A wedding designer focuses on the look and feel of your wedding—the colors, décor, layout, and overall atmosphere. They bring your vision to life and make sure your wedding feels personal, cohesive, and beautiful from every angle.

When should I hire a wedding planner

You can hire a planner at any stage of the process—it really depends on when you decide you need help! That said, many planners take on a limited number of weddings each year to give every couple the attention they deserve. If you have someone specific in mind, it’s best to book early to secure your date.

What payment types do you accept

We accept cash or checks.

Do I still need a coordinator if my venue has one?

A venue coordinator focuses on the venue — making sure the space, staff, and timeline for their location run smoothly. A wedding coordinator focuses on you — managing all your vendors, your timeline, and every detail of your day. While the venue coordinator handles what happens at their site, your wedding coordinator makes sure every part of your wedding day (from hair and makeup to the last dance) goes exactly as planned.

Will you work with vendors we select, or only those you recommend?

We will absolutely work with your choice of vendors, however we have a great team of preferred vendors that we work with should you need any referrals.

Are we going to be able to afford this

Absolutely! We believe every couple deserves a beautiful and stress-free wedding, no matter the budget. Every wedding is unique, so we adjust what we do to match your needs and your price range—helping you make the most of your budget without sacrificing style or joy.
